Each year, the ASWA Educational Foundation (The Foundation) recognizes the "best in market" companies whose commitment to work/life balance and individuals whose influence on others in the profession have placed them in the enviable position of earning the prestigious Foundation Award. This national recognition, which is conferred by a blue ribbon panel of judges, reflects a clear prioritization of both the value and the values that winning companies place on their chief asset...their people.
Our Balance Awards recognize local, regional and national companies that demonstrate sensitivity to women, provide leadership and mentoring opportunities, show concern for financial issues in their communities and that facilitate work-life balance.
We also recognize individual women for their contributions to the profession. We will select regional winners in this category and the six regional winners will be nominated for the national Influential Woman of the Year Award.
And finally, we recognize an individual or group that has supported their community by teaching a Financial Literacy program through our new Financial Literacy Award.

The Foundation Awards are sponsored by Accountemps & Robert Half Finance and Accounting.
Scholarships offered by the Educational Foundation For Women In Accounting (EFWA)
The Educational Foundation awards scholarships to women who are pursuing accounting degrees at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
The Laurels Fund was established in 1978 to honor Sally Self, a pioneering woman of distinction in the accounting profession. The income from the fund, and current contributions to the fund, are used to provide scholarships to women pursuing advanced degrees in accounting.
The Women in Need Scholarship was created in 2000 for women who are beginning their third, fourth or fifth year of academic pursuit and require financial support to finish their degree.
The "Women in Transition" Scholarship was established in 1990 to commemorate the 25th Anniversary of the Educational Foundation. The Board of Trustees designated this fund for scholarship awards to women returning to school to earn a bachelor’s degree in accounting.
