PRESIDENT'S
MESSAGE
The
Dessert Auction on November 21st was a huge success. We raised close to
$2,700 for scholarships and education, and had great fun in the process!
There was a tremendous selection of scrumptious silent auction and live
auction items. It was tough to choose, and the bidding was pretty
competitive! The participants at each table pooled their funds to purchase
the live auction items and then resold slices of these delectable treats. I
would like to thank all of you who contributed auction items, purchased
desserts, or sent in monetary contributions. We couldn't have done it
without you! A huge thank you also goes out to Paula Bishop and Shannon Orr
for all their hard work in organizing such a fine event, and to Liz Pray for
an outstanding job as our auctioneer! We really appreciate all your efforts!
December's meeting will be held on Tuesday, December 19th. This will be a
joint meeting with the Seattle Chapter, and we look forward to hosting our
Seattle friends at the Coast Hotel in Bellevue.
We
also will have the opportunity to visit with an ASWA National Board member,
Cheryl Willers, on December 28th. A number of us will be meeting
her for dinner in Bellevue that evening. If anyone else is interested in
participating, please let me know.
It's hard
to believe that the holidays are upon us already! I hope that we can all
take some time out of the frenzy, and enjoy the true spirit of the season. I
wish all of you a very happy and healthy holiday season, and the best of
everything in 2007! Hope to see you all on December 19th at our
next dinner meeting!

On a personal note...
I've had my own life altering experiences that have helped
me make significant changes in my personal and professional
life. Over the years, I've successfully transitioned into
several different and fulfilling careers, maintained a
weight loss of nearly 100 pounds for over 10 years, become
financially secure, been married to my best friend for 35
years and raised two remarkable daughters (who are now older
and wiser than I). Through these experiences, I've learned a
few things and I'm honored to walk the path of intentional
change with others ready to make the necessary commitments.

Dinner Highlights
Our ASWA
Bellevue Chapter Dessert Auction was held on Tuesday, November 21st,
2006. It is our main scholarship fund raising event of the year. We
raised about
☺$2,700
to benefit our scholarship and education programs. Thanks for your

Monthly Dinner Meeting Minutes
November 21, 2006
The November 2006 dessert auction was called to
order at 6:40pm by Laura Ohringer, President.
Laura Ohringer officially announced that the
time line for the silent dessert auction will close at 7:30pm
Elizabeth Pray, Immediate Past President of the
Seattle Chapter was our official auctioneer for the evening.
Many members brought in home baked and purchased
dessert items for the silent auction, which filled 2 classroom size tables.
There were 7 cakes for the live auction. Many
of the live auction bids were over $300 for each cake.
The proceeds of the dessert auction will benefit
the Scholarship Fund and the Education Fund.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:40pm.
