Position #1: Senior Accountant

Organization
The WatchGuard Accounting team provides and performs all accounting transaction processing and management in support of management and financial statement reporting.
Description
This position reports to the Accounting Manager and is responsible for maintaining, reconciling, monthly closing and analysis of the balance sheet accounts related to accrual review for open POs and other budgeted accruals and monthly income statement fluctuation analysis. The position also involves the preparation of ad hoc customized management reports, analysis, and research as well as project work related to the assigned accounts.

Experience and Qualifications
Work history should include 5+ years in position(s) with equivalent responsibilities and experience. Position requires a strong general accounting background with some exposure to accrual accounting and experience with monthly close and knowledge of GAAP. Additionally position requires proficiency with Microsoft products (Excel, Word). Educational requirements include a BA / BS degree in Accounting. CPA desired. Individual must be team-oriented self-starter with good problem solving skills and ability to interact positively and successfully with all levels of the company.

Position #2: Assistant to the CFO/VP of Operations - PT or FT
Sparling, a "Best Place to Work" firm specializing in electrical engineering and design consulting, is seeking an "Excel guru" with sharp administrative skills and a keen eye for details. This position may be part time or full time, and offers some flexibility in scheduling with core hours weekday afternoons. This individual will be based in our Lynnwood office, offering a speedy "reverse commute" for someone located in Seattle or on the east side.
In this position you will:
Assemble financial reports from disparate sources using a variety of software tools.
Provide financial analysis and reconciliations.
Analyze, audit and assemble data.
Provide assistance and support for various financial and operations tasks and special projects.
Prioritize, route, and respond to CFO's voicemail, email and mail.
Conduct research and develop reports and presentation materials.
Maintain confidential files and documents.
Coordinate and arrange meetings, appointments and travel.
Provide occasional support to the controller and members of the executive team.
Qualifications we seek in a candidate:
Associates degree or higher in business, accounting or related field plus a minimum of three years executive-level support experience, preferably in a professional services firm; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience preparing, manipulating, and interpreting financial and accounting data and reports.
Experience utilizing SQL and database reporting tools preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with command of the English language.
Strong research skills, with ability to interpret and report on findings.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products.
High level of proficiency in Excel and Access with experience in analyzing and manipulating large quantities of data.
Ability to read and interpret contracts and other legal documents.
Ability to protect and maintain confidentiality.
Ability to reach sound conclusions and demonstrate good judgment.
Ability to maintain a high level of productivity while working independently.

Position #3- Treasurer Opportunity at the Newport Presbyterian Church
This is a part-time position of up to 15 hours per week beginning July 1, 2008
Responsibilities
· Pay bills on time by check, EFT or
automatic payment
· Prepare and deliver payroll checks twice per month
· Post receipts
· Prepare checks for reimbursements
· Prepare/update audit file(s) for all disbursements, transfers,
receipts and bank statements
· Remit payroll taxes to the IRS
· Assist in preparing treasurer’s monthly financial report for
Stewardship and Finance Committee
· Prepare and file and pay L & I industrial accident insurance
· Prepare and file Employer Form 941 tax return
· Help prepare next year’s budget for Session approval
· Assist in preparing annual treasurer’s report
· On or before Dec. 31, make all approved/required transfers to
designated funds
· Prepare and distribute tax forms
Qualifications
· Experience with Excel and Word
· Experience with QuickBooks or similar program
· Knowledge of accounting practices
