PRESIDENT'S
MESSAGE
Now that we
are in the final stretch of busy season, and our schedules will hopefully
soon be more reasonable, it is the perfect time to become more involved in
ASWA. At our March 20th dinner meeting, we elected the members of
the Nominating Committee. Our immediate past president, Tina Farmer is the
chair of the committee, and Susan Nelson and Sheila Hess were elected as
committee members. A big thank you to all three of them for accepting this
important role. They will be calling upon members to consider taking on a
Board or committee position for the upcoming fiscal year. There are a
variety of positions available, so I hope you will give it some thought and
find something of interest to you. We will be voting on the new officers and
board members at our May meeting, and the official installation will occur
at our June meeting.
Please feel
free to ask me or any Board member any questions you might have about a
particular position and what is involved. There are also a couple of things
that you need to keep in mind. First of all, any member is a
candidate for the Board, even if you are brand new to the organization. We
always appreciate a fresh perspective and new ideas to keep the chapter
vibrant! Also, our chapter is a very supportive group. We realize and
understand that everyone has competing priorities. Taking on a role requires
some commitment, but keep in mind that you have support from other members
to step up to the plate when necessary and work as a team.
I'll see
you on April 17th for our next dinner meeting.
Your
President,
Laura Ohringer, CPA
